While We Reside was an online live performative installation which I conducted in the autumn of 2020 for Reactor, Space for Creation and Experiment in Cluj-Napoca. I wanted to explore the relationship between the city and its inhabitants and to what extent they influence each other. It was a rather emotional perspective, since we were already half a year into the pandemic and facing a long winter ahead. The artists who joined me in this project were Raul Coldea, Ioana Hogman, Lucia Mărneanu, Lucian Teodor Rus and Gabor Zsofi. They chose random places around the city from which they then broadcasted live streams to Facebook for a little over an hour. During this live feed, they would write their thoughts on what it means to live in this city. The text would appear next to the image. The participants could then enter this installation and move between the five broadcasts as they pleased, constructing their own version of the narrative as they jumped from one story to another. They could also intervene in the chat and share their thoughts. The five threads became quite hot with personal, piercing thoughts pretty soon. These five broadcasts were later downloaded and will be soon edited into an experimental film about living in Cluj-Napoca. Here are some still images from the transmissions.
