Gray Area

During the first half of 2023 I conducted a series of interviews on the streets of Cluj, asking a wide variety of people what would they choose to change to the present status of the world. I did this trying to investigate the broader theme of passive evil in the present context of the metacrisis and the growing polarisation in social, economic and cultural views. I took the material and prepared it for a participatory presentation I gave in Timisoara on the 26th of June. My aim was to engage the audience in working with the ideas which came out of the interviews and arrange them according to various indications, and constructing a ground for debate and speculation. This was the first iteration of such a context which I intend to develop further into more complex structures of communication and creative speculation. This project was possible through the Energie! artistic creation grant put forward by the Municipality of Timisoara through The Center for Projects Timisoara within the cultural national project Timisoara European Capital of Culture 2023.
